A common misconception about Survivor is you have a better
chance of winning the whole thing if you do great at the
challenges. But it doesn’t really matter how you do in challenges.
The top athletes have been getting picked off by the weak the
past seasons. The top female competitor Jacquie bit it
and the top men Dan and Ace already got the boot. Susie
and Crystal had something Ace and Dan didn’t - allies.
Having a strong alliance is the most important part of survivor.
Earl, Yul, and Tom were good at challenges but each had strong
alliances and sidekicks. Ozzie, Yao-man, and Ian, Todd and Parvati
both had “girl power” (Todd with Courtney, lunch lady and Amanda
and Parvati with Natalie, Cirie and Amanda).

It’s all in the perception. Crystal is a big woman, an olympic
gold medalist in sprinting, and therefore more is expected of
her from the survivor viewers. We do not expect as much of
Sugar so her stinking horribly at challenges is expected and
accepted. Sugar is never at camp and lives on luxury exile
island eating fruit so she never contributes at camp.
When they re-picked tribes Sugar wasn’t picked. Sugar is
horrible at challenges and gives up but since she is cute,
sweet and cries she is not mentioned as a horrible player. GC
quit or Sugar would be gone. Sugar has been sent to exile all
but once because no one sees her as a threat. Sugar was
given immunity to keep her in the game to hurt her tribe.
Sugar is sweet and nice. Crystal is moody, and negative.

I am really getting tired of Crystal. But upon reconsideration
to be fair I guess she is average at challenges and not totally
useless. I believe that in the team challenges Marcus, Dan,
Matty, Ace, Jacquie and Randy have really shined the most.
Crystal shined at first team challenges and thus was first
woman picked when they re-drafted teams.
Crystal is the only woman remaining that has not yet sat out
on a challenge and the only one that has directly contributed
to her team winning a challenge.
In the boat lacrosse Jacquie and Ace for Fang were just average and Randy, Marcus and Dan were excellent. Everyone else on both sides couldn’t even move their boat. Charlie, Susie and Bob didn’t have to move or do anything since their three kept the ball on Fang side.

Lo and behold the newest commercials are now saying that there
might not be a merge, but last weeks previews saw them all
enjoying food and nakedness in water, so it must be a merge.
I am getting very tired of Crystal and her inabilities to do anything!
I really hope that she is first to go after merge. She is just truly
useless in the challenges and around camp as well. The other
thing that ticks me off about Crystal is that she only gets
along with Ken. Crystal is surely not the player I thought
she was going to be when this season first started! In fact
Crystal may be the worst Survivor player ever!!!

I love the idea that Survivor should do this with the individual
immunity for a couple of episodes. It would really throw the
castaways off and not let them feel comfortable with their
teams and alliances. Just feeling like your not a threat would
not be good enough. After all these seasons they really do
need to figure out how to keep the ‘Drama Level’ high for us
loyal viewers. We get bored with the ‘Same Ole, Same Ole’
all the time.
It seems like the male players being perceived as cocky and
jerks while the women gets away with the their so called “strategy”.
Women can manipulate a man either using her sexuality or
weaknesses to get her way. As children, boys are made to
feel they need to protect women, and face it that feeds
their needs as well. And a woman using her sexuality? It’s
the oldest trick in the book. Does it work? Heck yeah it does.
Fair? Nope, but once again it’s feeding the male ego.

After re-watching Thursday’s Survivor Gabon episode I must
say I’m glad to see Ace go. I really didn’t like him. He was
at least interesting. I really didn’t think Sugar would vote
him off but I think it was in her best interests because he
would have stabbed her in the back. Sugar rules the game!
Who would have guessed that? What were they thinking in
giving Sugar the immunity necklace? She already has one.
If she had gone to exile island that many times and did not
find it, that would be sad. You would think they would want
to flush the necklace out so it can be put back in play.
No chance of that when they gave Sugar the necklace.
They wondered if Dan had the necklace. He wasn’t smart
enough to find it. I don’t think they should have voted him
off though because he just wanted to be liked. He would
have done anything they wanted him to do. Crystal is so
annoying. Doesn’t say much for being an Olympic athlete.
She’s lame. I wished they had voted her off. Her spilling
the rice, refusing to eat, then getting mad because they
didn’t save her any was stupid. She is so whiny. Corrine
is just a plain Bi***! Saying Dan might be a former fatty
was so mean. I can’t stand her. Susie is crazy in telling
Corrine she was going to write her name down. Did she
think that would make them friends?

They have had hidden immunity idols at each camp instead
of Exile Island. They have replaced the idol after it has
been used or eliminated (person with idol eliminated
without using it). The China season had the “kidnap a
member of losing tribe” and that person had to give
the idol clue to a member of the capturing tribe.
Todd got the clue from James. Todd found idol and
gave it to James and told James where to find the
idol at his camp when he returned to it.
So much for having immunity idols floating in both tribes.
So much for Exile island being temptation this season.
Dan went and Sugar has gone every time since. Exile
island was paradise island. If it was not comfort (food
and hammock) Sugar would have went crazy without
food, shelter, or companionship; basically spending
most of her survivor time alone on exile.
